Rich with History
Named after Captain William Carroll McAdams who settled in Palo Pinto County in 1854, the cemetery was established to serve the local Pickwick Community which is now under the lake.
The first marked grave is dated 1889 and in 1940, graves from the Carter Bend Cemetery were moved here as construction began on Possum Kingdom Lake.
Nestled in the beautiful Cross Timbers region of North Central Texas and adjacent to Possum Kingdom Lake, this community treasure provides a serene backdrop for families to remember loved ones and is a perfect setting for meditation and reflection for each visitor.
Walking through the peaceful grounds, the family names of the area’s earliest settlers tell the history of the land.
